Marvell Technology, Microsoft and Oracle have formed a new working group under the Open Compute Project to standardize a piece of security hardware that has traditionally lived outside the server. The group, organized under the OCP Security Track, will define open specifications for an integrated hardware security module designed for cloud and hyperscale data centers.

Nvidia plans to take a stake in d-Matrix, a Santa Clara startup that designs chips for AI inference, The Information reported on October 8. The investment, whose size and valuation were not disclosed, is part of a broader Nvidia strategy to make its technology interoperable with rival silicon rather than fighting every inference workload alone.
